Hobbit Party Invitations Tutorial & Template
Hey, friends! Today I’m sharing a tutorial for creating your own ‘Hobbit Party’ invitations. I’m really happy with how this year’s invites turned out and I hope you’ll be inspired by these to create your own!
This year’s invitation was inspired by Bilbo’s contract from the Dwarves in The Hobbit, and our RSVP card ‘contract’ is my favorite thing about it.
I’m including a free editable Canva template you can use to design your own Hobbit Party invitations. For this template, I used the ‘Hobbiton’ font which can be downloaded for free here. If you are a Canva Pro member, you can upload custom fonts for use within their software. You can grab the Canva template here.
Supplies Needed
Hobbiton Font (optional)
‘Antique’ Paper
Hot Glue Gun (Full Size - the Wax Seal Sticks will not fit in a mini glue gun!)
Wax Seal: My family ordered a custom wax seal with our family’s crest on it from this shop on Etsy, otherwise there are tons of cool designs available on Amazon. The one I used in this tutorial is from Hobby Lobby.
Wax Seal Sticks in Red Wine Color
Paper Cutter
Brown Twine
Steps to Make Invitations
After designing your invitation, export it from Canva as a PDF. Print on the ‘antique’ paper and cut each page in half.
Fold the invitation and contract into thirds and tie with brown twine.
Using your hot glue gun and wax sticks, seal the invitation.
Include a pre-addressed envelope for guests to return their RSVP ‘contracts’.
